A message from Dean

The College of Engineering at KMOU, a leader of the 21st century information society, is a center for advanced study of naval architectural engineering and information technology. It is producing professionals who have International compatibility, but are focused on contributing to the local community and the nation.

The foundations of the college began in 1980 with the creation of the Dept. of Marine Mechanics Engineering to provide training for industries related to ships and harbors. Since then, it has been joined by other related academic departments, which were eventually collected and reorganized in March 2000 as the College of Engineering.

The College of Engineering has a young faculty with an enthusiastic approach to education and research. It supports students with sound scholarship and provides opportunities to study language overseas for those who demonstrate excellent academic capability. It also secures innovative technology for experiment and practice through national projects such as NURI (New University for Regional Innovation) and the NEXT project. With the introduction of the Accreditation Board for Engineering Education of Korea (ABEEK), the college is increasing focus on producing graduates with the outlook and technical skills to meet the current needs of industry. It also vigorously supports development in local communities and instills with the vision and assurance to become leaders of 21st century engineering. The College of Engineering is determined to make utmost effort to grow its reputation at home and abroad.

For those with the interest, the College of Engineering is committed to providing enthusiastic encouragement on the road to success. Thank you.
